1st Ibiza and Formentera Organic Fair – 2019

11, 12 and 13 October 2019 | Can Tomeu, Ibiza

The first Ibiza Organic Fair brought together local farmers, professionals and the wider community for three days dedicated to organic farming, healthy eating and locally sourced food, featuring talks, discussions, a farmers' market and family-friendly activities.

The Beginnings of Our Organic Fair

In October 2019, APAEEF (Association of Organic Farming Producers of Ibiza and Formentera) organised the 1st Ibiza Organic Fair, an event aimed at promoting organic farming, local produce and the importance of healthy, locally sourced food.

Over three days, Can Tomeu hosted a programme of talks, discussions and activities open to the public, bringing organic food production closer to the local community.

Friday, 11 October

Talk by Aina Calafat, technical specialist at SEAE (Spanish Society for Organic Agriculture), entitled "Conversion to Organic Farming: Bioregion".

Round-table discussion with local farmers.

Saturday, 12 October

Talk by Lola Raigón, PhD in Agricultural Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, professor of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry, and member of SEAE.

Topic: "The Benefits of Organic Food".

Sunday, 13 October – 1st Ibiza Organic Fair

A public event featuring a market with local organic producers, stalls, product displays, organic food, herbal teas, juices and children's workshops.

Presentation of the CBPAE campaign "We Are an Organic Canteen/Producer".
